Scrolling through my timeline on Instagram, there's always people that I follow taking picture with this blue colour background. That's right, it's the popular and famous Wheeler's Yard. You can't tell people you went there before without taking the mandatory Wheeler's Shot.
My friend's family owned this place and so.... I decided to head down to try the food as well as take some nice pictures. The place isn't really hard to find as it's just a 5 minutes walk from the nearest bus stop. I took a bus from Toa Payoh to Balestier Shaw Plaza. I'm impressed by the whole concept the cafe adopted. It is based on a bicycle workshop concept and there's hundreds of bikes there. Personally, I would say the concept is one of the best thus far.
One of their signs at the entrance.
The cafe is split into two different areas - Outdoor and Indoor. I really like the outdoor concept but it was way too hot that day. There's lots of decorations like the bike statue and helmets on the wall at the interior. Even their toilet is pretty cool. It is definitely spacious and there's also plenty of sofa seats.
There's plenty of seats outdoor.
Indoor is much more cooling though.
They do serve a variety of food and drinks but I got to say that all the hype just came back as disappointment. The food was at best average.
My friend ordered this Otah Burger.
My friend recommended me the Chicken Yard burger.
The tiramisu cake. Not great but passable.
In all, would say that the price is too high for the quality of food that they serve. However, I would still recommend the Chicken Yard Burger as I felt it's pretty good.
While leaving the cafe from the backdoor, I see a lot more bikes. Really love the whole concept and how they put in so much effort to beautify the place.
My favorite bike! It's so retro looking.
In all, although the food standard is subnormal, I would still recommend you guys to visit this place at least once. Why? Because this place is really for hipsters! Epitome of a hipster cafe! Bring along some magazines or books to chill on a lazy afternoon.
For Instagrammers, you guys can definitely be able to take some nice shots here.
Sorry for the lack of post as I'm really busy with school work. I am in the midst of crafting our my next post on D' Good Cafe and my BKK Trip! Labels: Brunch, cafe, food, reviews |
