Movie Review: Haemoo
Haemoo海雾

Synopsis:
Based on true events, <HAEMOO> is the story of a group of fishermen who
are driven into madness when their attempt to smuggle illegal migrants ends
in a horrible tragedy. Six crew members –led by the captain, is the kind-hearted chief engineer
‘Wan-ho’(Moon Sung-geun) who had an eventful life and lives hidden on the boat. To the naive and youngest crew member ‘Dong-shik’(Park Yoochun) who just started working aboard the ship recently– begin their dream of having their boat with a full load of fish. However on the open sea, they are transporting something, it is not meat but human beings! To protect the ship and their livelihoods, Captain ‘Cheol-ju’(Kim Yoon-seok) suggests to his crew members the job in helping to smuggle [stowaways]. Numerous of stowaways who risks their lives and comes across the sea, and
the six crew members who are on board a fated boat. Amid that, an unknown ‘sea fog’ to which they cannot see what’s in front of themselves comes down and they become swept into an uncontrollable accident…
Brought my friend Tracy along with me for the Preview.
And of course a selfie with my coke before start of the movie.
I am going to start off with this. Haemoo is selected as the Korea entry for the 87th Academy Awards Best Foreign Language Film. Impressive isn't it! This film is based on a true story and I ought to applaud all the actors and crews involved in this production as it was an amazing job. The story starts with the captain of the boat deciding to traffic Korean-Chinese immigrants over to South Korea to get additional cash. However, things were not as smooth as they expect and things go terribly wrong. It starts off being a little draggy but gets increasingly more exciting as the time passes by. I was in utter shock when I realize what happened to the traffickers and this situation leads to much internal conflict between the captain and the among the crew themselves. I certainly did not expect so much violence but it was really thrilling to watch while all the tensions are building up. I almost lost faith in humanity half way through the show as the only humane one in the entire crew was the character portrayed by Park Yoo-Chun (Former DBSK and current JYJ member). The rest of the characters are so dark some might make you sick. You got a sex maniac, a man who can sacrifice his best partner due to his selfishness.... And the list just keeps going on. Much credits have to be given to Park as I though he really acts as well as he sings. There are a couple of twists in this movie and I love how the movie can make you struggling for air at one time with the intense action and the next moment, you will be laughing your ass out. The only complain I have with the show is that the ending left me very confused. You guys should totally check this film out and discuss/explain the ending with/for me! In essence, it's worth your 10 bucks. Oh, this movie is M18 as there are a few sex and violent scenes!
4/5 Popcorns for Haemoo!
Before that, you can watch this trailer first! :)

Black and White: The Dawn of Justice Movie Review
Black and White: The Dawn of Justice
I attended the gala premiere of Black and White: The Dawn of Justice last Wednesday. As promised, I'm back with a picture with Mark Chao, Director Tsai and The Influencer Network's Bloggers! Special thanks to Clover Films for giving me this opportunity.
Do I look like part of the cast? HAHAHAHA! I'm joking luh don't scold me!
And my +1 for the evening. Such a coincidence as we both wore black and white together again!
With the super tall Allen Chen.
So Mark Chao and Director Tsai entered our theater and gave a short introduction about the film as well as the cast.
Below are a few more pictures during the short interview.
Trailer:
Synopsis:
Panic spreads the whole city as a series of bomb explosions happen within hours and this is just the beginning of a tight-knit conspiracy. Righteous and impulsive, Wu Ying-Xiong is paired up with the intelligent but arrogant loner Chen Zhen to track down the mastermind behind the bombing incidents. Soon Wu and Chen will discover that the bombings are just the prelude to a massive destruction. Stolen military missiles are now aimed at the Harbour City; moreover, a deadly virus is about to breakout, which is so highly contagious that it can devour the whole world in 14 days. All the chaos is planned by the Nightwalkers— a secret assassination squad which used to serve the highest government officials…
Movie Review
This might sound a bit insane but honestly, this show is comparable to many Hollywood movies like Mission Impossible and Iron-Man. Firstly, I would like to applaud the main casts for their great acting. Mark Chao is known to have both the looks and the acting chops. Thus, the one that surprises me more was Lin Geng Xing. I have never watched any of his drama/movies before but I thought he is very natural in this movie which is instrumental since he is the 2nd male lead.
The movie was exciting and gets my adrenaline pumping during the fighting scenes. It is also a great leap forward in terms of the CGI effects as compared to most of the other Asian films. However, certain scenes were over-exaggerated and it bothers me how the main villain (without any superpowers) is able to cause such devastating impact. The quote that I remembered from the movie was 'Evil exists to honor the justice.' This kinda sums up what triggered the evil plan.
That said, this show is definitely a must watch if you are an Asian film fan. If you are not, give this movie a try and you might have a different perspective.
I will rate this movie 4/5 popcorns!
Sneak Previews on the 3rd to 6th October.

Trick Eye Museum Singapore - A museum like no other
A museum like no other.
Yes, I'm talking about one of the hottest museum in Singapore at the moment - Trick Eye Museum. I was invited over for this event by The Influencer Network last Friday. It was my virgin trip there and the only idea I had about it was through pictures I saw via Instagram posted by all my friends. So I'm really excited about this trip!
An OOTD shot that I took while walking over to the Trick Eye Museum. I really love my top. It was such a bargain.
Trick Eye Museum is a very popular attraction in Korea. Thus, when it arrived in Singapore, many people rushed to see what they had to offer and also to take really nice pictures. I'm really amazed by all the artwork and how a 2D painting can actually come to LIFE. Creativity is instrumental if you want to take nice, unique and funny pictures.
Let me give you a short introduction about this museum first. Trick Eye is actually a short form of 'Trick For The Eye' which refers to an art technique that turns 2D paintings into 3D through illusions. The discovery of perspective in the 14th century triggered the emergence of a wider range of elaborate, visual manipulations in painting. Trompe-I'oeil, a visual art technique that tricks the eye through optical illusion came into fashion in the 17th century. In case you are wondering, this kind of artwork is already being used since ancient Greece and Rome.
The museum is being grouped into 6 different themes. They are the World of Masterpieces, Love in Winter, Adventure Discovery, Safari Kingdom, Dreams of Fairytale and Stars of Circus.
Yes, you can visit all these at only $25 for adults and $20 for Children and Senior Citizens!
Of course if you want to have a swim at Adventure Cove or see some fishes at SEA Aquarium first, you can always get their promotional bundle price! They are namely the 'Adventure Cove and Trick Eye Museum Bundle' and 'SEA Aquarium and Trick Eye Museum Bundle'! Adult only has to pay $48 and Child is only $36! YOU CAN REALLY SAVE ALOT!
Trick Eye Museum is really very special. There is no way you can step into a museum without seeing the "Do not Touch" Sign. Trick Eye Museum, on the contrary, is a Please go ahead and touch and even sit and lie down kind of Museum. It is so interactive and it is totally a great day to spend with it with family and friends. If you have kids, they will definitely love this place to pieces.
Before you enter this museum, there are 4 rules that I want you guys to remember!
Rule #2 - THINK OUT OF THE BOX Rule #3 - DO NOT CARE WHAT OTHERS THINK OF YOU WHEN DOING YOUR POSE Rule #4 - CHARGE YOUR CAMERA, YOUR PHONE AND YOUR PORTABLE CHARGER With all these rules in mind, you are all ready to go! So right now, I am going to step inside the paintings to complete a visual narrative with my poses and watch a 'trick' story unfold right in front of my camera!
LETS GO!
That's one of our first take. We had to take a few times because we ended up laughing as we had to make such stupid faces.
I've got a confession to make. I always wanted to be a mermaid. Am I a legit one?
This is one of my favorite shot for the day because I think I look really angelic. Eh, my friend say that one hor not me! (I'm not self-praising! :P)
You don't have to go to a circus to take this picture. My nickname in secondary school was called 'Elephant'! HAHA
Trying to balance this. ARGH!!
I admit this wasn't a very good shot. Maybe you can try taking a good one and show it to me? I had a hard time visualizing how should I pose at this exhibit.
Fulfilled my wishlist. Sky-diving! :)
I'm a Panda and I love bamboos.
OH NO DONT LEAVE ME~
I never knew I could actually do a 75% split.
I really had alot of fun at this exhibit! It's like I can do 10 other more kinds of poses if not for those queuing behind me. HAHA
Horse racing. Can I possibly be the first to reach the finishing line?
Oh my I got a hunky 大野狼 to be my chauffeur for today.
I'm a Tee Ko Pek! Come catch me! HEHEHE
Just another lazy afternoon I guess.
This is another favorite of mine. I'm still flummoxed how this illusion is possible. I become really tiny on the left and my friends instantly became like giants on the other side. I'm guessing it had got something to do with the slope and the shading of this painting?
Oh yea!! I always wished I could do this when I'm a kid. It's like a wish come true! :)
And of course a group shot with my friends! I really enjoyed my time here.
With TIN's Dennis and William and my BFF Sandy! Thanks alot for inviting me over. It was such a crazy night!
As usual, signing off with an EPIC group shot! Saw lots of familiar face on that day.
So what are you waiting for, if you haven't visit yet. Don't hesitate anymore! This is definitely worth the money as you will be able to keep such nice and comical pictures. If you want to avoid the crowd, then maybe you can try going during weekdays. In all, it's really worth the visit!
Once again, thank you to TIN and the staffs working at Trick Eye Museum. Great hospitality from all of you! :)
Trick Eye Museum is open daily from 10am to 9pm.
