Bangkok BKK Trip 2/2 Tips + Guide
Sorry for the the delay! But here is my part 2/2 of my BKK trip! I've filtered the pictures because there was quite alot of them and I can't possibly post them all up on my post.
So day 2 was basically a shopping day for me! Woke up super early to have breakfast at A&W! It's like my favorite since I was a kid but it's no longer available in Singapore. Tried this waffle chicken and it was pretty good!
Most importantly, it is very cheap! It's just 3 minutes walk from my hotel. Yummy Yummy! That's how you start the day right.
Ta Da! How can you say you've been to Bangkok if you never visit Platinum Mall. Platinum Mall is like the air-con version of Chatuchak. But I prefer Chatuchak because it is more lively though. The same rule applies - BARGAIN BARGAIN!
Platinum Fashion Mall:
Opens 1100 - 2000
http://www.platinumfashionmall.com/pfront8/
222 (Platinum) Petchaburi RD. Ratchathevee, Bangkok, Thailand
I've to agree that there are alot alot more girl's stuffs than guys but it is actually sufficient for me. The things there are still relatively cheap as well.
Just outside the mall, you can see these whole stretch of stalls selling things like handbags, singlets etc. It is slightly easier to bargain here as well as compared to Platinum Mall!
Look how happy I am after coming our of Platinum mall. I spent around 4 hours inside. It's definitely not enough but I don't have the luxury to spend of much time on 1 place because there are still many places that I want to go!
Next stop: TERMINAL 21 (Asok Station)
Over at Terminal 21, every floor represents one country and that particular level is being decorated according to the theme. It's super cool! My favourite is Tokyo!
Looks Super Cool Right? It's like I'm really in Japan!
LG - Carribean
GF - Rome
MF - Paris
1F: Tokyo
2F - London
3F - Istanbul
4F - San Francisco City
5F - San Francisco Pier
6F - Los Angeles
Things over here are quite expensive and comparable to that of Singapore. Thus, I didn't buy much from here.
Had tea break over at Farm Design! The cakes are super good! So be sure to drop by and have a slice of cake if you are at Terminal 21!
Last Stop of the night: ASIATIQUE
Opens at 4pm
Take BTS to Saphan Taksin Station and walk towards the river (follow crowd)
Look out for the sign to Asiatique Shuttle Boat
I heard from my friends that the queue gets super long but it was pretty okay on that day
Had dinner at Asiatique. There's alot of food to choose from. We were totally spoilt for choices.
However, we chose the wrong restaurant as the food here was just so-so. However, we had budget constraints and couldn't eat the more expensive ones.
Asiatique is super beautiful and this place don't seems like Bangkok at all! It looks abit like Clark Quay but more BEAUTIFUL! This place is one of my favorite (only behind Talad Rot Fai).
Asiatique opens till midnight so be sure to catch the last boat or you will be stuck there!
Such a happy day with all my loots!
Ending off the day! I had such a great time shopping today! Going to Platinum Fashion Mall, Terminal 21 and Asiatique in 1 day is crazy and awesome!
Day 3
Doing some impromptu and last minute research!
The famous Wanton Mee! Must have when you are in Bangkok! Do order the large one as I finished the small bowl in like 5 mouths. It is located at Pratunum, SOI Patcheburi 15!
Headed to Erawan Shrine (Front of Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel) Admission is free. I was a little disappointed as the place is very small. I suggest you come visit here only if you are nearby.
Take a van from Victory Monument Station (N3), Exit 4. It is not hard to find as you will see many vans there. At the station, you can buy a ticket at counter 1 at 70 Baht. They are very helpful so just tell them you are going to Maeklong Railway and they will bring you there. the ride took about 1.5 hours.
It was a terrible experience because by the time we reached there, all the shops were close! In fact we did not see any tourist there as well and the people there are not proficient in English as it is located outside Bangkok. We got lost and we could not find the transport back to Pratunum!
Lost our way but still got the mood to take pictures. We asked for help but to no avail until we found this lady that guides us back to the van station after an hour.
It was quite boring there as the shops were all close but we still manage to see certain interesting stuffs.
The whole day was kinda wasted but we had awesome dinner outside our hotel!
This cost us only about $30! It is super cheap but most importantly, it's super YUMMY!
Last day:
Woke up early morning for hotel morning buffet!
First time here as our package doesnt include breakfast. The food was pretty good! :)
Went to Siam Paragon in the morning. This place is like Singapore's Orchard Road. Of course the stuffs here are quite expensive. However, it's still worth coming down to explore.
Having a last group shot before we rush back hotel to pack our stuffs for our flight!
Had a last meal at the airport before coming back to Singapore! My ALL TIME FAVORITE - MANGO STICKY RICE!!!!
